    Tropical evergreen?

I recently returned from a trip to the Dominican Republica where I saw this tree growing in front of an office. It looks like a Christmas tree, but isn't...are there any ideas out there?? I like it enough to find out if it will make it in the Atlanta, GA area...if so, I intend to plant some in my back yard!

    Thanks!

You'd have to keep it very sheltered in Atlanta, pattersj1. In central and northern Florida it will be damaged by freezes, if not killed off entirely. This is the same one you'll see decorated at big box stores for Christmas. The growth habit of a small one would be an inverted pyramid, but the tall older ones are very ziggurat-like.
