Type of everlasting small shrub

Dear list,

Can anyone identify this plant? I looked at several species of Helichrysum on the net, but couldn't find one like this:

It also comes in white.

Thanx in advance.

Welcome Penny. It looks like Gomphrena globosa. Common name Globe Amaranth. However, it it not a shrub, it is just an annual.

Thankyou very much, Silver surfer! It came in a mixed seed packet and I really like it and want to get more. Now I know the name it will be possible.

Cheers

Hi Penny, glad I was able to help.

Thank you so much for taking time to come back to say thanks. This forum seems particularly bad at doing that.

Some ids that I have done have taken me ages. Some people, must assume I am a robot!!!! I wonder why I bother at times.

Sorry, having a very dreich grey day here. I want to be out in the garden doing stuff!

No problem.

If you ever want to know anything about Australian native plants or dogs (my other hobby), PM me and I'll try and help you out. I mostly have natives, but do love my mixed annual plot.

Thanx again

Penny :-)
