Unknown Seed

Please help me identify this seed. I found it on a walk in the Colorado River. I live in Southern Nv. and walk in the river all the time. I found a seed floating down the river and wonder what tree or shrub it will grow into when it arives at it's destination. Today is Thursday 19 July. I will check for replies within the next 7 days. Thank you for your help. The seed is about 1 inch in diamater, rounded but coming to a point at the top. flat on one side and round on the other. It is coffee brown darker on the rounded side. Hi Nanadragon,

I would suggest you contact a local university or your local extension service for help with this.* The seed could be from just about anywhere up-river, but a local source would probably give you the best chance for an id.
