    Hi,

Sorry I don't have a pic of this plant yet.* I got a seed pod from my mother-in-law last summer, planted the seeds and viola, we have another plant....but, none of us know what it is!* They are perennials, as they come back to her garden every year without her doing anything to them.* We live in Zone 4 (Twin Cities. MN).* I thought maybe Nasturtium, but the flowers do not have spikes on them.* The flowers themselves are quite small, about 1" across when opened.* The flowers are yellow, but some look like they are also orange. * And they seem to close up at night and reopen the next day.* Also, the seed pods are separate from the flowers, and look like fat crowns (they are globular and have spikes all the way around the top).* The leaves are about 4" big, dark green, shaped like shields and have a velvety exterior.* Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.* I know it's very hard without a pic - I will post one shortly.* Thanks so much!!

    Hi Runzwthszzrs,

Do you have a picture yet?* You might be able to id what you have using one of these search engines and putting in any details you know.

I'd love to know if you id it.* If not, please post a picture of whatever you do have.* Knowing if the plant grows in sun, part sun or shade, when it blooms and it's height would be most helpful.

When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant.
