I posted this in the fruit forum as well, but thought I may get more response here.
I have 6 three year old thornless blackberry plants they are Black satin, Tripple Crown, Dirksen, and Navaho varieties. Though the Dirksens seem to do the best Last yearI had a good harvest with a bounty of big berries from all four varieties. This year has been much hotter. I live in Utah so not only the heat but super low humidity is a problem. As it becomes closer to harvest many of my leaves on my year old canes are starting to look post harvest the berries are ripening but each berry will have dead spots within the berry Some of the lottle balls that make up a berry will be brown, hard, and dry.
Am I dealing with a problem with the heat that I can not control?
To much water/ Not enough?
Are these the simptoms of a desease of some kind?
Am I not furtilizing enough?
I am at a loss as to what to do here. Any help or experience would be great and apreciated.
