    Best Perennial Herbs

I am trying to locate the best perennial herbs to plant in my zone 6(Midwest). I would like herbs for cooking and for landscaping (aroma) around the pool. I planted basil for the first time last year and had a very successful harvest.

    Hi Bab,

The best place to start your search is with your local extension service.

Chives, Costmary, Lemon Balm, Lovage, Marjoram, Mint, Rosemary, Thyme, Sage and many more. These are the perennials (for zone 6) I can think of right now.

    Hi There,
I also like the idea of planting herbs and cooking with them fresh. also very nice in salads.
Lavender I found, grow in very warm and very cold areas. and you get a lot of different kinds, even a yellow one.
How do you know in what zone you fall?
