There are so many interesting varieties of palms that are yet unknown to most mainstream gardening
Here are a few that belong to the Genera of palms called " Licuala"
This one is Licuala "Sumawongii". The leaves get really huge when they are fully grown - up to 5.5 to 6 feet!
This next one is Licuala "Mapu". The mottling pattern is really unique
This last one ia Licuala Orbicularis. The gorgeous pleated leaves are as stif as cardboard
Very nice.. do you know the gardening zone for each? They would look great in my garden next to the Gunnera.
I live in the tropics so I kind of take climate for granted.
They do well in Zone 11 which I imagine is my climate but people in South Florida also grow these varieties pretty well.
There is another variety with spotted leaves that is known to be very cold tolerant -- it's called Licuala Radula.
