We have a Ryobi cultivator attachment on a Troy Bilt weed whacker. It's powered by the 32cc 2 cycle weed whacker engine. It comes with four tines and you can put them in multiple configurations, using any number of tines you want.
In short, it works. It works great on soft soil. It is a lot of work on hard ground, clay and to break new ground though. If we try to run it through new ground with a lot of grass roots still in it, bind city. We have to keep stopping and clearing the grass roots from it. All that said, for the money (less than $100 for the attachment), it's toughness and small size that makes it easy to get into places, it's worth having. Beats a shovel and fork. Beats those muscle powered spiked pizza cutter looking cultivators too.
Any other experiences with small cultivators and tillers?
