    Camellia Bonanza

    Can anyone tell me why my Camellia blooms have no fragrance?

    Hello Hannaw. Ken here in the Chicago area.
    Your Camellia Bonanza is a cultivar of Camellia sasanqua. Cultivars
    are usually bred for looks, not fragrance. In the process of achieving
    the look that they wanted, the fragrance was bred right out of the plant.
    It genetically has no fragrance anymore. Sad, isnít it. Take care.

    Zone 9 fragrant camellias

    Donna here in N. central Fl, wondering if there are any fragrant camillias that grow here in sugar sand?

    Here is a list of some fragrant camellias.
    High Fragrance
    Minato-no-Akebono
    Minoto-no-Haru
    Kato-no-Kaori
    Souzaís Pavlova
    Fragrant Pink
    Kramerís Supreme
    Sweet Emily Kate
    There are 2 rules for success. Donít plant too deep and donít give them wet feet.
