First off, thanks for taking the time to read this. The problem i've been having is that my eggplants are starting to flower. That's good, but when the flower falls off and it's time for the stem of this flower to start stretching, the whole thing falls off. This has happened twice and it's quite frustrating. The plant appears quite healthy, except for some dry spots on the leaves. Other than that, healthy stem, staked and about 2 feet tall. Can anyone help?
I would guess that the flower did not get fertilized. This happens frequently with squash and although I am not as familiar with this happening on eggplant it is my first guess.
Next time you get a couple of flowers hand pollinate them, or if you only have one try to self pollinate it, and see if this makes a difference.
