are you growing the mint in a pot? perhaps it is potbound. i'd start another couple of plants from the runners. when these establish themselves you can chuck the old one. rust could be attacking it, there are sprays for it. make sure it gets at least a half-day of full sun and lots of water(less if it is planted in the ground) Good luck, and enjoy
