I have eucalyptus mulch down in an herb garden and they love it. The fine texture seems to work very well. I use it throughout a large prennial and annual garden as well and have not any trouble with plants dying. I live in FL, so maybe soils are different than the folks who had trouble. It's a lot better environmentally than cypress- nobody, and certainly not a Floridian should be caught dead using that stuff!
