: I hope someone can help me. I have 5 hostas in a semi circle in my front yard. They get morning sun. Two of them are much, much smaller than the other 3 and I can't understand why. They are about 8 to 10 feet from the larger ones and in the same bed, so the soil should be the same. Do I need to fertilize the smaller ones? What should I use? Any other suggestions as to what would help them grow? Thanks for your help.

Hi Judy,

Just like people, plants can grow at different rates. You don't say when they were planted or if they behaved like this last year. I would say to give them some time and see if they catch up.
