Our hostas are being overrun by a tubular weed. We were thinking about digging up all the hostas, cleaning the weed out from around the roots and transplanting them for a year then dousing the remaining weeds in weed killer, but we are afraid that the hostas may go into shock from being transplanted two years in a row. Is it possible to use weed killer on the weed with the hostas still there? Hostas are so durable, will the weed killer kill them too? Are there any suggestions? Thanks.
