hostas and pachyasandra

I've built a raised bed in the shade, under a large maple tree and have spaced several varieties of hostas within this bed. I would like to fill in the ground space with pachyasandra for a ground cover, but I'm leary of the competition with the young hostas. Would, in your opinion, the ground cover choke out the hostas, or prevent them from growing at a good rate?? Thanx.
