: I have one of these plants and I have recently just repotted it... My questions is being a succulent when the plant shrivels up does this mean not enough water or to much... I dont know why but someone told me that when this type of plant has to much water is shrivels up and not enought is get tight... Would it not be the opposite? However my plant has damp soil and has had damp soil since it was repotted and it is shrivelling up... Any suggestions... I think the other name for this plant is stapula... I am not sure.. Thanks Kristi

Hi Kristi,

Yes, your plant is shriveling up because it has been overwatered. You could try removing all the soil and repotting in a dryer soil, but I don't think your plant will be with you much longer.

Next plant that you get, try looking up the care for it at www.google.com and put the name in quotes like this: "Star Flower Cactus" You can also click on 'Images' and often get pictures. If you have the botanical name you can often get more information with that.

Sorry for the bad news,
Newt
