Jasmine plant disease?

Hi,

I bought a jasmine plant about a year ago. A few months after, its leaves became sticky and a white sticky fuzz was visible in the pot and where the leaves met the stem. Soon after my gardenia began to have the same symptoms. I don't know what this is. I haven't seen any bugs in the pot or on the plant. The plants are still alive but could look better. Is there anything I can do to get rid of this fuzz?
