: I bought a jasmine plant a few days ago. I don't know which kind, it didn't state. This is my first Jasmine plant, so I don't know how to take care of it. I live in South-West Mississippi, so the summers are hot and humid. The winters can get quite cold, short periods of frost. Do I need to bring the plant in during the winter? I would like to plant it outside. Should I plant it on the west side of the house (morning sun) or east side (Lots of afternoon sun). How high do the bushes grow? Any tips are welcome!!
Your hardiness zone is probably zone 8, so you should be able to grow your jasmine outdoors year round. Here's a zip code zone finder.
It would be best if you could identify which one you have. Some are vines and some are shrubs, so I can't tell you how tall it will get. I would suggest that you take it to a good nursery and ask them if they can id it for you. Then once you have the name you can go to www.google.com and put the name in quotes like this: "star jasmine" and get information on it's care.
