Umbrella Plant too tall??

I have an umbrella plant that is great, but it's about 14 feel tall at the tallest upreach of the leaves/branches. The stem goes to about 11 feet up.

Well, I'm moving. The new roof is about about 9 feet tall.

How do I go about cutting it down? Will that hurt it to just lop off about 2 feet from the stem?
