: I have an umbrella plant that is great, but it's about 14 feel tall at the tallest upreach of the leaves/branches. The stem goes to about 11 feet up.

: Well, I'm moving. The new roof is about about 9 feet tall.

: How do I go about cutting it down? Will that hurt it to just lop off about 2 feet from the stem?

If you're talking about Schefflera actinophylla, aka as umbrella tree, I'd just cut off part of it, but enough so that it has some room to grow back and branch out.
You may be able to root what you cut off too.

Aloha,

Maren
