Fuschias care

I just got a fuschia and it's not looking good already. I have it hanging in an east window and have sprayed the leaves with plant food.
The soil this plant came in seems heavy and stays wet forever. The leaves are turning yellow and the buds are just withering away.
Doesn't this sould like I should repot in a lighter potting soil that will not stay wet so long?
