It would help if we knew what TYPE of orchid they are. Dendrobiums (they have long canes) like to go dry bewteen waterings and Phals (long strap like leaves that hover just over the top of the pot) like to stay a bit moist but not really wet.

Sometimes milk is used to clean/shine leaves, it won't really help for much of anything else. I wouldn't waste my time on adding milk. Tom
