winter in so cal for fuschia and impatients

: i have fuschias and impatients in hanging planters, of which have been lovely all spring and summer...Is there anything special to do for these plants in the winter months in Southern Calif..(orange county--Laguna woods)  shoud they be trimmed back or do you just start over in the spring..
