worms??

: I have a Philodendron and a crotron(codiaeum) growing in a pot in my dorm room. I have recently noticed lots of small, white, worm looking, bugs in my soil. Does anyone know what they might be or if they are harmful to the plants? The plants are doing really well right now and have no symptons of any diseases. I am just concerened about later on...How do I or should I get rid of them?
