: I live in Seattle, so it's not the brightest place in the world, and have two dying plants on my hands. I believe that they both may have been overwatered, and wonder if there is a "reversal" for it...or just leave it to dry out??

: One of the plants is a type of Aralia, with long skinny leaves that look serated. There are signs of small growth, but most leaves are curling up and dropping off after drying up completely.

: My other plant is a short broad palm, or tropical type plant. It has leaves that are drying up and turning brown, but not really falling off, but simply drooping as they brown and dry.

: Unfortunately, we get little sun here...should I perhaps check out a sun lamp?? They are such nice plants, and did so well before, but in the last month have started to die. HELP!!!!!!!!!

Hi Chris,

First let me say NO SUN LAMP!! If you want to give your plants more light, either use a grow light or florescents.

I think your aralia is called 'false aralia' or Aralia elegantissima. Is this it?

Here's a site that should be helpful with plant care.

Good luck,
