Dendrobium losing its bloom

Hi
We were given a Dendobium orchid when our daughter was killed two months ago and the two lower blooms are wilting.
The plant is 20" tall with four blooms, two leaves, in a 4" pot with sphagnum moss.
How long do blooms usually last? I've not fertilized it yet.
Maybe a bigger pot so watering is not as critical?
