Leaves turning yellow in colour (dendrobium)

I recently purchased a dendrobium...it is a Home Depot charity case. I chose it because the flowers had not opened yet...it looks as though they trimmed back the flower stalk...but that is not the point.

I am new to orchids and would love to start an actual collection. The leaves are beginning to turn yellow, but the flowers seem to be in good shape (they are fairly firm).

Any suggestion as to what the cause may be?
I live in an apartment in New Hampshire. It is fairly cold here. My wife and I keep the apartment around 65-70 degrees. We get a lovely amount of bright sun in our kitchen/dinig room window from about 7:30 am to around 12:00 pm. I know environmental factors are important hence the description of my apartment.
