Posted by Jane on April 16, 2003 at 05:57:29: FIrst, I have a lot of new growth on my orchid, but there's an old stem (no leaves) that has nothing on it sticking straight up. I thought maybe I should cut it off but it looks REDDISH and I feared it was healthy so, although it's ungainly, I'm not sure what to do. The orchid itself is filled with flowers and buds. I'm so happy as I usually have a "black thumb." My SECOND question is: Near the earth are wormy-looking green sprounts about 4-5 inches long. What are they? Can I use these to propogate a new plant and if so how? |
