Hi Anne,

Well, first I've got to say that I'm a newbie on this board...I'm German and living in Berlin...18 years old etc...
I love orchids since I'm 14 and did some very "special" things for their wellness.
What I'm trying to say is, please excuse my english *g*

Now about the Cattleya...Cattleyas need a rest, that meens, while their not growing, they want to have a cooler place and less water, no fertilizer! This could be a reason, why it didn't bloom so far.

Did you ever repot it? What about the roots? If the plant is doing a sapling (I hope, it's the right word...)you should repot in orchid substrate, a drainage of styrofoam or bloated clay will do fine (about 1/4 of the pot).
Does the orchid get enough light? How often do you water it?
Well then, I hope, my language was comprehensible, it's my first try, writing something in English...

Hope I'd helped :)
