New to Orchids, Got a question

: I have just bought my first Orchid. Planted it in an Orchid Pot, used a Orchid mix, placed it im my bathroom where it gets a southern exposure. I heard that to help keep some humidity around it, to place it in a saucer with some gravel so you can keep some water there. The proplem I am having is that the clay pot is starting to grow a very fine white fungus on it. What should I do?
