The only sure fire treatment that I have had experience with is a miticide called Kelthane.
Spider mites require a miticide for elimination because they are not in the same family as the overwhelming majority of insects that we have to contend with.
You may have to search harder for Kelthane than you would any other pesticide but it is available for home use. Follow label directions please!
