Hi,
The orchid pot is very good! When you water, either immerse in a pot of water (rain water or spring water best--never use water that has been "softened" as it will kill the plant with it's salt) or (as I do) let the water run freely through the pot of the plant for 10 min or so. If you do the immersion technique, make sure you change the pot of water and clean it between plants as they will pass disease and pests between each other.

The moss is a matter of opinion. I tend to overwater plants. So my phals are all in only bark. Sphagnum moss tends to stay water-logged and then rot the roots.

: I bought a phaleonopsis and transplanted it into an orchid pot - a pot that has holes in the sides of it. I also planted it in bark. I'm wondering if this pot is causing the stalk to die, because I can't put hardly any water in it before the water comes out of the holes and into the tray beneath. How should I water it? I was wondering if I should immerse it once a week in a pot filled with water in order for the bark to all get good and wet. Should I pack some moss in with the bark mixture? I'll just note that the leaves appear to be fine. Thanks!
