: One should never prune their orchids. This allows for more stalks and new shoots from previous stalks /stems. Also, never let your soil go dry, keep moist, not wet. When watering, drain the excess water from the saucer. Orchids need fertilizing all year, less during the winter obviously. My orchid is just beautiful. The first bud bloomed on the last Tuesday of March and is still as lovely.
