Well, the orchid is doing fairly well...or should I say, it was doing well...until one of my two cats decided to munch on the blooms. I trimmed back the flower stalk, repotted the orchid and I am giving it an orchid food, watering around once a week.
something funny is happening though...it appears that a new shoot (not flower stalk but new leaves), growing from the base of the plant. Should this be of some concern? Often I see otrchids with only one group of leaves, but this one has several.
