Could be too much sun (although this is odd as my HD keeps the orchids in an indoor no light site--maybe it was recently from the grower). My grower suggests keeping dendrobiums in an E or W window without shade or in a S or N window with filtered sunlight (like a sheer curtain). Do you have it in a N, W, S, or E facing window? The temps in your place sounds perfect for dendrobiums. To me--another inexperienced orchid grower...
