I, too have a Phal. with no spike...it has been in the west window all winter...has several new leaves and appears to be healthy. But, no sign of a spike. I was told to put it in the dark for a couple of weeks and bring it out, and it should bloom...any comments regarding this advice ?
The spike, last year was beautiful,..had 11 blooms on it.
