Propogate orchids babies on stem

: My orphan orchid stopped blooming dropped all leaves and then began to grow little babies on the stem.  They are small leafletts with little baby roots.
: My question is do I wait till they are bigger and twist them off an put into their own pot?  Or cut the stem and plant the stem with the baby too?
