Deadheading asiatic lilies

Help! I'm new to perennials. How should I dead-head my lilies? All the blooms have fallen off, so should I pull the stamen out and leave it at that, or should I pull off the whole end that the stamen is attached to? I haven't touched anything yet for fear that I will pull off too much. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks!
