: My daylilies bloom profusely, and once finished blooming, the leaves turn brown and flop over. They are is mostly sun, and I fertilize them in the spring with a nitrogen-rich fertilizer(My soil tests very high in phosporus and potassium). This does not happen to the old-fashioned daylilies. Despite this, they come up every year and go through the same cycle! Any ideas? Thanks!

Hi Karen,
It just seems to be the nature of some types of daylilies. Some of mine do the same, with lots of leaves turning brown.
