Black-eye susans flowering problem

: The flowers of my black-eyed susans look so wierd. I have a lot of flower buds. But they all open up with a large black eye in the center but the petals around it were thin, narrow and pointed. It seems to me the petals didn't open up wide to form a daisy-like flower. I checked around and found no pest. What should I do to get back normal beautiful flowers?
