The size of the containter would depend on the size of the root system. It's hardy to zone 5 so you could just plant it in the ground or put it in a pot and bury the pot up to its rim for the winter.

I don't know if it will survive in the house over the winter. I would think it needs a dormant period of time, but you could give it a try.
