I live in Philadelphia, PA and have a beautiful Calla Lily plant in my garden. It is in partial shade and is kept moist by other ground cover plants. It usually has beautiful bold flowers, but this year the flowers never came. Instead the flower buds remained very hard and green and the inside flower components (carpel/pistal?) was very swollen and hard. They were so heavy that it bent the plants. Could this be a nutrient deficiency or perhaps an infectious disease? Does anybody recognize these symptoms? What do I do to recover my beautiful flowers?
