We're in a new house and at some point, someone who lived here loved to garden, but everything has overgrown. I've spent this whole year restoring the flowerbeds and happily finding treasures all over. Most I've been able to identify, but late in July I had something come up I just sensed was a plant and not a weed and let it go. The thing is now about 3 ft high, with a pretty good spread on it. The stems are a purplish color coated with like a fine white fur. The leaves don't seem to grow in any specific numbered group, but are heart/spade shape and a med. green. This thing blooms mostly in the evenings and at night, huge white morning glory type blooms about 5" in diameter. I thought it was a moonflower, but the pictures I've seen aren't the right bloom and it's definantly not a vine. Now there are seed pods (I think) on it that are round spikey balls about the size of a golf ball. Any idea's? Thanks in advance and btw, nice to have found this board. :)
