: HELP! The power company trimmed trees along our street and managed to drop a huge branch onto one my beautiful azaleas (the bums!). Half the bush is snapped off and the remaining half has damage on the woody base of the plant. Any first aid instructions would be greatly appreciated...any recommendations on names/types of replacement azaleas are welcome. We're in southeastern Pennsylvania, Zone 6.

: Thanks,

I hope you told them about it. You might be able to get them to pay for the replacement.

I would suggest you make a nice clean cut on the branch were it broke. As for the other branch that has damage, it may heal on it's own unless the bark has been removed from the entire circumference. If that's the case, that branch will die as well.

Are you looking for recommendations for evergreen or decidious azaleas?
