: Received root cuttings of common milkweed and am trying to learn how big the pieces of milkweed root that I plant should be. I live in sw virginia and plan to plant them outside(if advisable) as soon as I get an answer to my question.

I would say the largest you have. I've never heard of using root cuttings of milkweed. The seeds are VERY easy to plant and germination is almost 100% if you winter sow. If you need directions for winter sowing, let me know.

Good luck,
Newt
