: Received a yellow cally lily for Easter. No instructions came with it. Can I transplant in the ground? I'm in zone 5. Thank you

Hi Sook,

Glad you included your zone! Calla lilies aren't winter hardy in your zone. If you want to plant it in the ground you will have to dig it up in the fall and store the bulb over the winter in a cool place. You could also put the pot directly in the ground and dig it up in the fall. I did this for several years but it never bloomed for me. Maybe you'll have better luck.

You can do a search at www.google.com and put in quotes like this: "calla lily". You can also click on 'Images' and often get pictures as well. Also try searching with the botanical name once you have it. See if this site is helpful.
