Is there anything I can do to make it bloom again this year? Should I prop it up with a stake? Will it come back next year? I'm a beginning gardener so any help is appreciated. Hi Shawn, So sorry to hear about your bleeding heart. I would suggest cutting off any broken stems just below the break. Try and make sure what is left gets a little extra attention. If it looks dry, give it some water. As long as the root system didn't get damaged, it should recover. It probably won't bloom again this year, but one never knows. It might just send out new stems that will bloom. It should come back next year as long as there was some greenery left. Good luck,
