: : : Should I trim my Honey Suckle Bush back for the winter
: : : It is getting unruly looking.

: : Hi Evelyn,I'm way up here in Canada, Nova Scotia. i only trim the unruly stuff and keep the rest tied to the railing of the deck with long tie-backs. The scent is delightful when wesit out to eat. Yes, it gets real warm up here. Our seasons are similar to New York.
: : It really is best not to prune in fall as that can stimulate more growth that won't have time to harden off before frost. If it's too unruly, just cut the stems that are the worst offenders. Keep in mind that spring bloomers should be pruned just after blooming and fall bloomers should be pruned in late winter or early spring - late February thru March.
