red raspberry plants

Can you move red raspberry plants? I live in the pacific northwest and this is my second year with raspberries. They multiply like crazy. I am curious if I can move them as they are crowding other plants in the same area. If so, what time of year should I do this? They just finished harvesting and I have cut out the old canes. I just want to make sure I do not kill next years fruit. Thanks!
