Malus hybrida
( Red Snow Flowering Crabapple )
| This is a beautifully arching, deciduous tree. Leaves are dense, ovate, often lobed, dark green, up to 3 inches long. Red buds develop into very light pink flowers in spring. Fruit are shiny red, approximately the size of a cherry. Grows 8 to 10 feet tall and 6 to 8 feet wide. This tree does well in most soil, but will be more attractive if fed peat and compost. Not disease resistant. |
| Important Info : Be careful not to prune too heavily or apply too much fertilizer since these can increase susceptibility to fire blight. |
